Program Director: (bio on our extraordinary longtime director coming soon!)
Assistant Program Directors:
A longtime resident of Darien, John Miceli likes to stay as involved as possible in the Darien community. John and his wife Alison, both graduates of DHS, have two young daughters growing up in town, and enjoy everything Darien has to offer. After starting his own business here, Miceli Insurance, John wanted to stay connected with Darien’s students and families. He has been staffing at the Depot for the past 11 years, during which time he has also been the DHS Blue Wave Varsity Baseball Coach. One of Darien’s top former players, he loves helping to develop young players into successful athletes. Coaching and staying involved at the Depot are important ways John gives back to his hometown, and shows his young daughters what it means to support the next generation of DHS students!
Matt Miceli grew up here in Darien, and is a 2000 graduate of DHS, where he was Captain of the Wrestling Team. He attended the high school with his wife, Kristie – although they didn’t really meet one another until after returning home to town after their college careers! Matt works with Abilis, a non-profit agency helping children with developmental disabilities and providing employment services and residential support to adults needing support throughout Fairfield County. When he’s not working, Matt has lately been enjoying preparing the nursery for their first child, a baby boy due on December 5th this year! Congratulations, Matt and Kristie!
Dave Shaffer moved to Stamford from Chicago several years ago with his wife Heather. A 2004 graduate of Kent State University, he is currently the Production Manager at the Jerry Springer Show, and Stage Manager for the Steve Wilkos Show. (We know he must have some great stories to tell!) He enjoys working at the Darien Depot in his spare time, getting to know the tweens and teens of our town and gaining insight on what inspires and interests them. When he’s not working, you can find Dave with his wife Heather at a concert or a sporting event, or spending time with his beloved yellow Lab, Charlie!
