Fundraisers

Annually, The Depot operates four fundraisers. Each Darien resident is a vital part of our community. We all have the capacity to give time, gifts-in-kind, funds or services and make a difference in the lives of others.

Fall Annual Appeal: An annual town-wide written appeal for a critical need necessary for the continuing operation of The Depot.

Winter 2018 Fundraiser:
 The Winter Fundraiser is The Depot’s main source of funding support for facilities, operations and programming. If you are able to donate time, gifts-in-kind, funds or services for the annual event, please contact 2017 Board of Director Event Chair, . The Depot plans upcoming fundraisers year round and always welcomes donations and creative ideas from the community.

Winter 2017 Fundraiser: Kathy Arrix, Kathryn Doran and the Darien Depot Board of Directors generously thank the Darien community for making the 2017 Viva Las Vegas Winter Fundraiser a huge success. As a direct result of the evening’s generous parents and community, the Depot was able to move forward with sorely needed repairs and updates to our local community space, and we were able to secure the financial resources necessary to continue to present quality and relevant student, adult and community programs. Live auction donors generously contributed ski and beach vacation homes as well as theater tickets, and silent auction donors gave incredible artisan products and top-notch local merchant services, all in support of our youth community. The Depot extends a heartfelt thank you to all of our sponsors and donors.

Most important, The Depot is proud of our Student Governing Board who make The Depot a home away from home as they serve the Darien community and beyond.  We are honored that so many from our community could attend and see these amazing students and their incredible work shine.

Spring Spelling Bee: The Spelling Bee is comprised of any number of three member teams and emceed by “celebrity” administrators from the Darien Public Schools. Teams compete in rounds, with the winners of each round participating in the Championship Round. The cost of entry is $150 per team, any town resident of any age can pull together a diverse team of three to compete. For additional information contact . All proceeds benefit Depot Programming.

Summer Senior Graduation Balloons: Families of graduating Darien High School students are offered a bouquet of balloons placed on mailboxes the June day of graduation in exchange for a donation to The Depot.
