empowHER (previously called Girls’ Night Out) provides high school girls and youth who identify with female development with a friendly, inclusive environment for group discussions, empowering them with a safe place to discuss challenges they face daily. Aside from quiet conversation and team bonding activities, participants go on a few field trips and adventures outside The Depot, and welcome in occasional speakers. This award-winning program increases self-confidence, self-esteem and well-being while offering social and emotional support with peers. empowHER is mentored by Emily Larkin, formerly of Darien’s Thriving Youth Task Force, and facilitated by High School Student Leaders.
