Helping Hands (& Paws, Too!)
Helping Hands (& Paws, Too!) gives high school students meaningful opportunities to serve both people and animals in need. Members organize local supply drives to help fully stock the Darien Human Services Closet at Town Hall, which provides essential household items not covered by food assistance programs to local residents facing financial hardship. The club will also complete service projects and raise funds for animal shelters and other animal-related causes. Through hands-on volunteering, community outreach and fundraising, students build leadership skills, self-confidence and empathy while making a positive difference throughout the community.
Open to 9th-12th grade students. Meets two Thursdays per month from 7-8 p.m.
